God's Judicial System
(How is that God is executes His Law in righteousness and justice, but still shows grace and mercy?)

1. Before the Law came, sin was in the world.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:    (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law"  (Romans 5:12-13).
2. When the Law came, there came the knowledge of sin.
"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin"  (Romans 3:20).  Note: "For by the law is the knowledge of sin."  Where there is a stop sign and we fail to stop then we know that we have broken the law.
3. Everyone breaks the Law and is guilty.
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:    There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.    They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one"  (Romans 3:10-12).

"But we are all as an unclean thing] and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away" (Isaiah 64:6).

"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God"  (Romans 3:19).

4. If a person breaks the Law at any one point, he broke the whole of the Law.
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all"  (James 2:10).
5. Man becomes unable to keep God's Law because of his sin nature.
"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others"  (Ephesians 2:3).

"For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.   What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death" (Romans 6:21-22).

6. The punishment for breaking the Law was spiritual death which leads to facing the eternal wrath of God.
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness"  (Romans 1:18).  Remember that it only takes one sin.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"  (Romans 5:12).  Adam sinned and sin entered into the world.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"  (Romans 6:23).  This is a death of the spirit-man within man.

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.    And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.    And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.    And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire"  (Revelation 20:12-15).

7. Jesus took the full wrath of God for man's sin upon himself.
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed"  (Isaiah 53:4-5).

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit"  (I Peter 3:18).

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:40).     Note: The "heart" of the earth can not just mean the "grave".  It seems to refer to the very center of the earth.  In the natural, we know that the heart of the earth is molten lava which also gives us a picture of hell.

"Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?" (Ephesians 4:9). This is a picture of Jesus going to the lower part of hades.   Look at the words of David, "But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth" (Psalms 63:9). This is the abode of the UNRIGHTEOUS dead.  It is not just the grave!!!  Jesus not only suffered the physical death on the cross he also suffer three days is hell (hades) he might taste of the "second death" as well as the first death.

8. Man is not capable of being justified by his own deeds of righteousness.
"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin"  (Romans 3:20).

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified"  (Galatians 2:16).

"I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain"  (Galatians 2:21).

"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.    But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster"  (Galatians 3:24-25).

9. Man can only be justified by accepting by faith what Jesus has accomplished.
"Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference"  (Romans 3:22  )

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:    By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God"  (Romans 5:1-2).

10. Salvation from the wrath of God only comes through a faith commitment to Jesus as Lord.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"  (Romans 10:9-10).
11. God imputed justification to the Believer.  (The term "imputed" means to attribute to.) (A good way to remember justification is to remember "Just as though we never sinned.")
"Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin"  (Romans 4:8).

"But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;    Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification"  (Romans 4:24-25).

12. The Believer is justified without the deeds of the Law.
"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law"  (Romans 3:28).
ARE WE OR THE JEWISH PEOPLE STILL TO OFFER ANIMAL SACRIFICES???

WHAT ARE OUR SACRIFICES TODAY???

THEY ARE THE SACRIFICES OF THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE.

Again, we are not to offer animal sacrifices because the blood of Jesus is far better.  "For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.   Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:  In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure." (Hebrews 10:4-6).  Note that when JESUS came, he did away with the animal sacrifices!  The sacrifice of Jesus was once and for all!  "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (Hebrews 10:10).   O.K. then, what are the sacrifices that we are to offer? "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name" (Hebrews 13:15).   We are to give thanks and praise God for the sacrifice of Jesus and what we receive through that sacrifice.
1. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we have been blessed.  (Luke17:15-16).

2. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when there is failure. (Habakkuk 3:17-19).

3. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we experience depression. (Psalm 42:5, 11, 43:5, Isaiah 61:3ff).

4. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we have lost our sanity.  (Daniel 4:1-37).

5. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we are in bondage. (Acts 16:25-26).

6. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we are under attack.  (II Chronicles 20:20-23).

7. We are to offer the sacrifice of praise when we have run from God. (Jonah 2:9).
