The ABC's Of Praise

"Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him." (Psalm 67:5-7)

Praise is giving adoration to God for His nature and character.

Praising God is one of the best ways to fight worry, fear, depression, and even physical pain. It gives us an opportunity to take our eyes off the darkness of the circumstances to see that God is much greater than our circumstances and can even change those circumstances.

One night as I lay awake on my bed in physical pain, I decided to make better use of my time than to worry about the pain. I began to praise God according to the English alphabet. Maybe you can add more to the list. Someone may jump up and say, "Well you are just using praise as an escape mechanism." Yes, to some degree that is true. However, I am redirecting my attention to the God who is the answer to the problem rather than just focusing on the problem. David said, "Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments" (Psalm 119:114). We are to "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name" Another reason to praise God is that He inhabits the praises of His people. "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel" (Psalms 22:3).

A.	We praise you because you are the ALMIGHTY God. We praise you because you are the ALPHA and Omega. We praise you because you are AMAZING. We praise you because you are the AUTHOR and finisher of our salvatio.
B.	We praise you because you are BIG. We praise you because you are the BRIGHT shining morning star. We praise you because you are BEAUTIFUL. We praise you because you are our BUCKLER. We praise you because you are the BREAD of life.
C.	We praise you because you are the CREATOR of heaven and earth. We praise you because you are the COUNSELOR. We praise you because you are the of COMPASSIONATE. We praise you because you are our COMPANION.
D.	We praise you because you are our DELIVERER. We praise you because you are DIVINE. We praise you because you are our DEFENSE.
E.	We praise you because you are the EVERLASTING Father. We praise you because you are the ETERNAL Spirit. We praise you because you EFFECTUAL. What you do has effects.
F.	We praise you because you are the FATHER of all creation. We praise you because you are the FIRST and the Last. We praise you because you are our FRIEND. We praise you because you are our FORTRESS.
G.	We praise you because you are the GOOD Shepherd. We praise you because you are GRACIOUS. We praise you because you are GENEROUS. We praise you because you are our GOD.
H.	We praise you because you are our HELPER in time of need. We praise you because you are our HEALER. We praise you because you are our HEALTH. We praise you because you are HOLY. We praise you because you our HOPE.
I.	We praise you because you are INDESTRUCTIBLE. We praise you because you are INFINITE. We praise you because you are the I AM.
J.	We praise you because you are JEHOVAH-JIRAH (our provider). We praise you because you are the JUST JUDGE. We praise you because you are our JOY. We praise you because you are our JUSTIFIER.
K.	We praise you because you are the KING OF KINGS. We praise you because you are KIND. We praise you because you are our KINDRED.
L.	We praise you because you are LORD OF LORDS. We praise you because you are the God of LOVE. We praise you because you are the God of LIGHT.
M.	We praise you because you are the MIGHTY God. We praise you because you are ever MERCIFUL. We praise you because you are the MIRACLE WORKER.
N.	We praise you because there is NONE like you. We praise you because you NEVER sleep or slumber. We praise you because your NAME is above every name. We praise you because you are NOBEL.
O.	We praise you because you are OMNIPOTENT. We praise you because you are OMNIPRESENT. We praise you because you are OMNISCIENCE. We praise you are the OMEGA.
P.	We praise you because you the PRINCE OF PEACE. We praise you because you are PRAISEWORTHY. We praise you because you are our PEACEMAKER. We praise you because you are all POWERFUL. We praise you because you are PURE. We praise you because you are PERFECT in all your ways
Q.	We praise you because you are the God of the QUICK (the living). We praise you because your word is QUICK and powerful. We praise you because you are QUICK to save us. We praise you because you are sometime QUIET.
R.	We praise you because you are RIGHTEOUS. We praise you because you are the RULER of heaven and earth. We praise you because you are our REST. We praise you because you are our REDEEMER. We praise you because you are our ROCK.
S.	We praise you because you are our SAVIOUR. We praise you because you are SOVEREIGN. We praise you because you are SABAOTH (mighty in battle). We praise you because you are our SHIELD.
T.	We praise you because you are TRUE to your Word. We praise you because you are the one TRUE God. We praise you because you are TRUSTWORTHY. We praise you because you are our TEACHER.
U.	We praise you because you are UNDERSTANDING. We praise you because you are UNSTOPPIBLE.
V.	We praise you because your are the VICTORIOUS VICTOR. We praise you because you are VIBRANT. We praise you because you are VALIANT.
W.	We praise you because you are WONDERFUL. We praise you because you are WORTHY of all praise. We praise you because you are the WORD.
X.	We praise you because X reminds of us of the CROSS. We praise you because you are XENITH (above all). We praise you because you are X as a abbreviation of Christ from the Greek.
Y.	We praise you because your name alone is YAHWEH.. We praise you because you are the God of YES and amen.
Z.	We praise you because you are ZEALOUS to perform your word. We praise you because you are the God of ZION (Jerusalem).
