How to get God to SHOW up in your life.

Brag on Him.  How? Praise Him!

The Word says that the LORD dwells in the praises of His people.  "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel"(Psalm 22:3).  God said, "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God" (Psalm 50:23).

1. When Solomon finished building the temple and the praisers began to praise God in unison, God showed up.
"It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;    So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God." (II Chronicles 5:13-14).

You may have a great desire to worship God.  Join with others in praising God and God will show up.

2. When Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, dwelt Jerusalem, the enemy surrounded and outnumbered him.  However, after the prophet encouraged him, he sent the choir out before the army to praise God and God showed up.
"And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.  And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten."  (II Chronicles 20:21-22).

You may be in the situation because the enemy has come up against you and surrounded you. However, God will show up when you praise Him.

3.  When Jonah ran from God and found himself in the fish's belly at the bottom of the ocean with seaweed wrapped about his head, he decided to praise God and God showed up.
"But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.    And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land." (Jonah 2:9-10).

You may be in the situation because you have been running from God.  However, when you praise God in the middle of the situation, God will show up to deliver you.

4. Nebuchadnezzar, because of his pride, had lost his mind and his kingdom and lived as a wild man in the wilderness for seven years. However, when he came to praise God and God showed up.
"And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:   And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?  At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.  Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase." (Daniel 4:34-37).

You may be in the situation because of your own pride.  However, when you humble yourself to turn to praise God, He will show up.

5. When Paul and Silas, because of their preaching the gospel, where thrown into prison, in isolation, and with their feet in stock, they sang praises to God and God showed up.
"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.   And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed." (Acts 16:25).

You may be in the situation because of unjust persecution.  However, when you praise God in the situation, God will show up.

It doesn't matter how bad your situation is,
if you will PRAISE God in the midst of that situation,
He will show up on the scene.
"When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments." (Habbakuk 3:16-19).
