Get A Picture Of Revival

Word pictures which we can visualize in our minds often strengthen our faith.

(Isaiah 35:1-10)

1. The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

Note: It is a picture of a desert place after a rain. The desert comes to life just over night. There is beauty that springs out of thorns. This is a picture of revival.
2. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
Note: It is a picture of the abundant life that we are to have in Christ.  There is so much abundance that God has to receive the praise.
3. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
Note: Although this is a prayer, it is prayed with an expected answer.
4. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Note: When revival comes there is a boldness that comes in the place of fear.  There is a new confidence in God to save us.
5. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Note: There are miracles of physical and spiritual sight and hearing.
6. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
Note: We will see miracles that will astound us. The Spirit of God will flow in the most unexpected places.
7. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Note:  The dry area will become as an oasis where water springs out of the ground.  It will be a watering hole with vegetation for the animals.
8. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
Note: It will become attractive to many who desire revival, and become a place of cleansing.  However, those who desire to stay is sin will stay away.
9. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
Note:  When true revival come the devil is barred from entering.  However, the redeemed have an open invitation to enter.
10. And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Note:  When revival comes people will attend church with joy and singing.  There will be no room for depression.  Amen.
