Did Jesus Suffer Disease?

Jesus first became a carrier of DISEASE.

The Bible says that Jesus ". . . healed all that were sick" (Matthew 8:16).  This means that He healed every kind of sickness, including your DISEASE. But how??? "Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses" (Matthew 8:17). As He healed others of disease, He, Himself, became a carrier of those diseases (which includes your DISEASE), but only a carrier.

DISEASE did not enter His body at this time because . . .

DISEASE did not have a legal right under God to attack Jesus at this point in time.

God's LAW stated that if anyone did not obey all of God's laws, then that person would be subject to the curses, such as various diseases. (See Deuteronomy 28).

NOTE: "Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law" (Deuteronomy 28:61).

However, God also promised to a man who obeyed all the laws of God, "I will put none of these diseases upon thee"(Exodus 15:26).

Jesus did keep all the commandments of God (He did nothing wrong according to Hebrews 4:15); therefore, He could only be a carrier of disease. DISEASE could not harm Jesus at this point in time.

What really happened on the Cross?

Everything that we have done wrong was placed upon Jesus. "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every on to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6).

The Bible says that Jesus was considered a sinner although he never sinned. "He was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sins of many . . . ." (Isaiah 53:12).

In fact, the Bible says, "For He (God) hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us . . . ." (II Corinthians 5:21).

Again, the Bible says, "(Jesus) who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree (cross)" (I Peter 2:24).

Jesus & disease

Jesus received the curse of DISEASE.When our sins were put upon Jesus and He became sin for us, then all diseases, including your DISEASE, had a legal right under God to attack Him and did so through the open wounds of His stripes and other wounds.

We can know that this occurred because:

  1. His body was marred more than any man, yet others had been crucified. (Isaiah 52:14).
  2. His death was premature. When the guard came to break his legs, to speed up his death, he found Jesus already dead. (John 19:13).
  3. Jesus had to suffer every penalty for sin for us in order that we may receive salvation and healing. "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree" (Galatians 3:13).

The key scripture:

"Surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5).

HOW TO BE SAVED AND HEALED:

  1. Confess to God that you have sinned.
  2. Acknowledge that the penalty for sin is death.
  3. Believe that Jesus paid the penalty for you by dying on the cross.
  4. Commit your life to Jesus as your LORD. (Romans 10:9-10, Philippians 2:9-11).
  5. Receive healing through faith in the understanding that Jesus suffered disease for you through his stripes. Amen.
