Approaches To God In Prayer

Why should God bother to answer your prayers?
What is your basis for approaching God in Prayer?
APPEALING TO GOD
(different approaches in prayer)

Note: "Prayer is a legal term. "I pray _______ the court."  It is an appeal before the Judge to hear your case, even a demand to be heard (Luke 18:1-8).  The Greek word "aiteo" translated "ask" also mean to make a demand.  (Matthew 7:8, Luke 11:13).  God even invites us to "command" of Him (Isaiah 45:11).  Our appealing should be focused upon God, our God, the Judge, the King, our Father, and our relationship to Him.

We should APPEAL to:
1. The Fatherhood of God (our sonship) (Luke 11:1-13).
2. The Unity (oneness) of God (based upon our unity) (Matthew 18:19).
3. The Delight of God (our delight in Him) (Psalm 37:4).
4. The Kingship of God (our being subject to His authority (Matthew 6:33).

10. The truth that God does not change (Psalm 102:27, Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 13:8,
        James 1:17).
11. The Authority of God (our experience) (Matthew 8:5-13, 18:18).
