Being Made Whole

A Multaiple Personality or a Dissociative Identity Disorder usually occurs as a result of severe mental, emotional, physical, or sexual traumas in early childhood such as in the case of Satanistic Ritual Abuse. The person is so traumatized that he or she consciously or unconsciously uses his imagination or create another personality within himself to escape from the reality of the trauma in some manor. It is a defense mechanism to cope with the trauma. The new personality, called an "alter", will normally have some of the same characteristics as the primary personality, but will also have new coping characteristics, and may even have a gender change. The coping process may be repeated to create even more personalities over time. Alters within the individual may get stuck at a childhood age or grow with the individual. Alters may take on roles of protecting, distracing, fleeing, or suffering for the individual. The person. himself, may have dialogue with the alters or listen in on some internal dialogue between different alters. Another factor in MPD or DID is that demonic spirits may enter through generational curses, occult activity, and emotional wounds and may also assume the role of various alters. However, alters and demonic spirits do have distinguishing characteristics. The good news is that demonic spirits can be cast out, alters can be properly intergrated, and the person can be healed and made whole.

Sometimes through extreme emotional trauma, one's personality or soul becomes f-r-a-g-m-e-n-t-e-d. There remains a core personality, but the fragmented parts are called alters.  There is often internal dialogue between the core personality and alters and among alters.  Alters may take on different roles.  Below is listed a few typical examples, though the list may be much larger.

a small child a parent a protector
the quiet one the rude one a perfectionist
a teenager a nobody a teacher
a shopaholic a sexual activist a lonely individual
a sexual opposite a slob an artist
the expert the black sheep
the reject

Alters usually have some similarity to the core individual, but often take on other characteristics as well.  Some of these characteristics are not good, but some are good character traits.   For example, a protector may have the characteristics of being overly protective and agressive, but also on guard, being strong, and being faithful.

What happens when an alter is merged with the core personality? A good illustration of this is illustrated with buckets of different colors of paint.

CORE + ALTER = WHOLENESS

The result is that the individual is more BALANCED.

How can one be made whole again?

1. It is important to ask God to reveal the truth.  Please see "Prayer For Discovery".   It is sometimes difficult for the individual to discern the difference between the core personality and an alter or even evil spirits who may pose as an alter.  Since Holy Spirit is to guide us into all truth, we should pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us into the truth.  Please also see: "Alters & Evil Spirits" to see some distinguishing characteristics.

2. Since evil spirits may attach themselves to an alter, one should prayerfully look to see if a door has been opened for the evil spirit to have legal right to be there or if he is simply an intruder.  Please see: "The Open Door" and "The Enemy's Methods Of Entry".   One can shut the door and take away the legal right for the evil spirit to be there, by confessing and asking for forgiveness.  Please see:  "Deliverance Prayer Guide".  Once the legal right is removed, then one can bind and cast out the evil spirit (James 4:7).  One can then move toward receiving healing and wholeness.

3. It is important that the core individual looks at the positive character traits of the alter and reaches out to reach out to receive, accept, and love the alter into the whole. Again, quite often the alter will in some way compliment the whole.

4. It is also important to remember that God is the one who puts the pieces back together again and makes the individual whole. Please see: "Putting The Pieces Together".

5. One should not forget that after he becomes whole, he STILL can make a choice to again become fragmented.  However, if he will choose to rely upon God rather than an alter, he can remain WHOLE.
